Kinshasa, June 12th, 2021, (CPA).- The Action against the violation of the rights of vulnerable people (ACVDP) wishes to see the government of the Republic put in place effective mechanisms to put a definitive end to all forms of work of children, said Friday, the president of this structure, Crispin Kobongolo, in an interview with the CPA. Crispin Kobongolo, who was speaking as a prelude to the celebration, on June 12, of the « world day against child labor » also expressed the wish to see the public authorities rehabilitate the integration centers of Nyangezi, in South Kivu, and Madimba in Kongo Central to provide vocational training for young people. He further recommended that public decision-makers consider mechanisms that could eradicate all forms of child labor that breed illiterates and semi-literates, which he described as a « time bomb ». After welcoming the government’s initiative to send young delinquents commonly known as « kuluna » to Kaniama Kasese, in Haut-Lomami, he recommended strict respect for the rights of these children by their supervisors. However, he deplored the growing number of children victims of intolerance, social exclusion, economic and sexual exploitation, before announcing a series of awareness-raising actions of different layers in favor of abandoned children or family breakdown.
