Kinshasa: April 24th, 2025 (CPA)-The 2nd edition of the artistic and cultural festival ‘bamwetu’ in French (our people), is scheduled for May 3rd in Lubumbashi, the main city of the province of Haut-Katanga, in the south-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, CPA has learnt on Thursday from the organiser. The festival + bamwetu + is an event that honours the artistic and cultural richness of our community… the event will be held in Lubumbashi, with a live concert, a performance of dance and urban art, an exhibition of products and services and others ….. It will also be an opportunity to officially launch the 2nd edition of the ‘bamwetu’ magazine,’ has declared Kevin Laodor, organiser of the festival. The aim of the festival is to highlight young artists and entrepreneurs from Lubumbashi and elsewhere. And also to promote entrepreneurship among young people as a driving force for social change. ‘Your public target is the young artists and creators, entrepreneurs and project holders, pupils and students, cultural institutions and development partners… We will also have a live concert with emerging and established artists, art exhibitions (painting, photography, crafts).Training workshops on entrepreneurship, leadership, art and technology and more. This festival carries an inclusive, civic-minded and dynamic vision of culture and entrepreneurship. It aims to become a major annual event in the sub-region, uniting the driving forces behind sustainable and supportive cultural development. The first edition of this event was a real popular success. ‘Bamwetu’ is a cultural, artistic and entrepreneurial event launched in Lubumbashi (DRC) in 2024. It aims to provide a platform for the expression and promotion of local talents, while fostering creative entrepreneurship and social cohesion.
