A meeting of the archbishop with parish priests is scheduled for Wednesday in Kinshasa

Kinshasa, May 26th, 2025 (CPA) – A meeting of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is scheduled for Wednesday with parish priests, diocesan officials and pastoral agents in Lemba, a municipality in the centre of the Congolese capital, according to a press release received on Monday by CPA.

‘Our archbishop has asked me to invite all the parish priests, accompanied by the three members of their management and property councils, the diocesan leaders (all the committees) of the services, commissions, groups and movements’, it is read in the statement signed by Abbot Clet-Clay Mamvemba, secretary-chancellor of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa. According to the source, this meeting will take place in the parish of Notre Dame d’Afrique in Lemba from 3pm.

Furthermore, the launching of the Catholic pride awareness campaign around the general theme: ‘I am a Catholic, I advocate peace’ has been announced for June 14th to 15th, 2025 by Father Jean Marie Munketalangi, parish priest of Saint Jean Paul II parish in Limete, a municipality in the centre of the city of Kinshasa. ‘We are launching from June 14th to 15th, 2025, the Catholic pride awareness campaign around the general theme: +I am a Catholic, I advocate peace+ in the large hall of the Servants of Charity congregation at 15th rue Limete industriel,’ has said Father Munketalangi. This programme of activities for Catholic Pride Month will be supported by the Friends of Peace Caucus and Catholic Pride.
