Kinshasa, April 17th, 2025( CPA) – A protocol agreement for cooperation in the agricultural sector was signed on Tuesday between the Minister in charge of Agriculture and a Chinese company, during a ceremony organised at the Chinese Embassy in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to a press release received on Wednesday by CPA. ‘The Minister of State, Minister in charge of Agriculture and Food Security, His Excellency Gregoire Mutshail, has signed a protocol agreement with the Chinese company Hunan Linshi Agricultural Service, represented by its General Director, Ms Liu Cui. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Chinese ambassador to DRC, His Excellency Zhao Bin, the vice-governor of Hunan province, Cao Zhiqiang, and Mr Christian Ndusi Ruziga, 2nd counsellor at DRC embassy in China’, we have read in a press release from the office of the Minister in charge of Agriculture. The Chinese diplomat has specified that this is a global cooperation, based on the entire value chain, from production to consumption, with access to seeds as the starting point. ‘Our country is already working with a number of African countries in various areas, including the supply of fertilisers and technology, and for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), we are convinced that this collaboration will be more far-reaching, with a view to diversified economic cooperation focusing on free trade between entities’, has said the same source. According to the Minister of State in charge of Agriculture, this cooperation will enable young agronomists to benefit from a number of agricultural opportunities, improve the country’s agricultural technology and professionalise producers and the staff of the Ministry in charge of Agriculture. ‘This agricultural cooperation also aims to create jobs through the various training centers that are to be set up in addition to those that have already been in operation for a number of years. This approach will lead the country towards sustainable and efficient modern agriculture’, has added the Minister in charge of Agriculture’s office in its press release.
