Bas-Uele: commitment to implement the interprovincial cooperation in the Greater Oriental Region

Isiro, May 28^th, 2025 (CPA)-    The governor of Bas-Uele province has committed to 8implement the interprovincial cooperation in the Greater Eastern region at the opening on Wednesday in Isiro, the chief town of Haut-Uele province in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, of the Permanent Framework for Interprovincial Consultation and Cooperation. « I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to His Excellency the Governor of Haut-Uele Province, Jean Bakomito Gambu, for his commendable initiative to strengthen interprovincial cooperation in the former Oriental Province. On behalf of the province of Bas-Uele, we are committed to implementing this interprovincial cooperation in the Greater Oriental region. That is why we will make every effort to ensure the success of these first meetings of the Permanent Framework for Interprovincial Consultation and Cooperation with the aim of sealing agreements for the emergence and development of this area, in accordance with the vision of the Head of State, » has declared Mike-David Mokeni, Governor of Bas-Uele.  ‘On behalf of the province of Bas-Uele, I pay tribute to the President of the Republic, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi, for his tireless efforts to restore peace throughout the country,’ he has added.  The governors of the provinces of Ituri, Haut-Uele, Bas-Uele and Tshopo from the Greater Oriental region have been participating since Wednesday in the first meeting of the permanent framework for inter-provincial consultation and cooperation, aimed at pooling efforts to address common development challenges, in preparation for the governors’ conference to be held very soon in Lualaba.
