Kinshasa, April 1st, 2025 (CPA). The casting for the « Miss Millenium Kinshasa » election, aimed at selecting candidates to represent the capital and promote national culture, has been officially launched on Sunday at the Galerie présidentielle building, located in Gombe, a municipality in the north of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, CPA has noticed. “We have launched the casting for the « Miss Millenium Kinshasa » competition (third edition), to select talented young women who combine beauty, intelligence and commitment. Candidates ready to represent the city, get involved socially and promote Congolese culture », has declared Lary Levi, organiser of the competition. « This competition is all about beauty and intelligence. Our criteria are as follows: female, resident in the city of Kinshasa, at least 160 cm tall without heels, open-minded, with at least a state diploma, able to speak at least 2 languages, French and Lingala », he has added.

Talking about participation in this casting, the organiser has counted more than twenty candidates in the casting out of the seven or so registered at the launching. « The things have started, we have had more than 70 candidates registered, but unfortunately less than 25 have shown up (…) but the most important thing for us is that the desired number of candidates to start the competition has been reached » he has pointed out. He has also announced that the names of the selected candidates will be published on the digital platforms of « Miss Millenium Kinshasa » this Tuesday, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Created in 2023 by « Millenium Universal », a company run by Levi Lary, the « Miss Millenium Kinshasa » competition aims to promote the beauty and talent of women and to defend social, health and environmental causes. The competition, initially provincial and limited to Kinshasa, brings together 20 to 30 candidates aged between 18 and 27, all Congolese nationals and residents of Kinshasa. In addition to beauty, the competition also showcases women involved in social, educational and environmental causes. The winner of the 2024 edition, Patricia Makay, « Miss Millenium Kinshasa », was involved in environmental protection through the « zero plastic » operation, organised last January in the municipality of Ngaba in order to raise awareness among the municipality’s young people of the need to recycle plastic waste.
