Business climate in the DRC and Morocco: investment regulations discussed in Kinshasa

Kinshasa, June 26th, 2025 (CPA) – Investment regulations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and exploring the business climate were among the objectives of a Moroccan delegation on a mission to Kinshasa from June 9th to 12th, according to the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS-DRC) on Thursday.  « The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Democratic Republic of Congo (CCIS-DRC) had the honour of welcoming, from June 9th to 12th, an important delegation of Moroccan businessmen on an economic mission to explore business opportunities in the DRC, investment regulations and meet with Congolese officials to discuss the possibility of a future partnership between the two countries within the framework of South-South cooperation, » said CCIS-RDC President Jean-Robert Isifua Bokombe during the debriefing.

According to Mr Isifua, this mission was a high point in the development of business relations between the two countries, noting that initial feedback, particularly from the Moroccan business press, confirmed that it had been promising and informative for foreign investors interested in the agri-food, cosmetics and cleaning sectors. ‘It enabled them to gain a better understanding of the business climate in the DRC and to prepare for upcoming deadlines, in particular the signing of the agreements of the Moroccan-Congolese Joint Commission scheduled for the coming weeks,’ he added. The CCIS-DRC, continued its president, this event confirmed its essential role as a bridge between the DRC and the rest of the world, particularly with its African sister countries, for the development of commercial, industrial and economic relations.  » This success also reinforces our conviction of the need for the CCIS-DRC to benefit from strong institutional support from the relevant sectoral ministries in order to consolidate its actions and amplify its impact in the service of the national economy, » said President Isifua, announcing that in order to continue this positive momentum, his chamber of commerce is preparing to organize a major economic forum in the coming months. ‘This event will be held under the high authority of our relevant public institutions and will be organized in partnership with another African sister country. Its aim will be to highlight the many business opportunities our country has to offer and to strengthen economic and industrial ties between the DRC and its African partners.’ During their stay, the members of the Moroccan delegation met with several Congolese authorities, including the Minister in charge of Vocational Training, the Provincial Minister of Public-Private Partnerships, and the CEOs of banking institutions such as EquityBCDC, BOA and BGFIBANK. The CCIS’s vision is to promote Congolese entrepreneurship in order to contribute to the development of trade and industry in the DRC.
