Kinshasa, June 19th, 2025 (CPA).- Cooperation in the agricultural sector was discussed on Thursday between the spiritual leader and legal representative of  the Kimbanguist Church and the French ambassador  to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)  during his visit to Nkamba (New Jerusalem ,in the province of Kongo Central ,south-west of DRC) , has learned CPA from religious sources. ‘I have presented to the spiritual leader the purpose of my current mission in Kongo Central. I discussed with him the possibilities for interaction and cooperation between France and the Kimbanguist Church, particularly in the agricultural sector, especially as the Kimbanguist Church gives priority to food self-sufficiency,’ has said Remi Marechaux. He has said that in the territory of Mbanza-Ngungu, the French ambassador has a project to extend rural roads and develop agricultural production. ‘So these are obvious synergies, but also in the field of education, we are working with the Congolese provincial authorities to build new schools. And we are working with state-approved schools,’ he has noted. « I cannot visit Kongo Central without stopping in Nkamba, the international headquarters of the Kimbanguist Church. Kimbanguism is part of Congo’s history and spirituality. As French ambassador, whose mission is to understand what is happening in Congo, it was important for me to come here, » he has emphasised, before saying how honoured he was by the welcome he received at the church. During his visit to Nkamba, the French ambassador in DRC, accompanied by his political advisor Patrice Leroy and Ms Sofia Ibrahim, director of the French Development Agency (AFD), have visited the Papa Simon Kimbangu Museum, the mausoleum of Papa Simon Kimbangu and the site of the apparition of the map of Africa.
