Kinshasa, April 24th, 2025 (CPA) – An appeal to the mobilisation of the necessary resources for the protection of child victims of all forms of violence perpetrated by Rwanda and its M23 auxiliaries has been launched, during an interview given to CPA on Thursday in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. « Recent UN reports reveal that innocent children are being executed by armed groups operating in the east of the country, a tragedy that deeply affects our society. Reason why I call on the competent authorities to mobilise the necessary resources to protect children who are victims of atrocities », has declared Jyreh-Miche Nganya, head of communications at the Listen and Convivial Information Centre for Adolescents and Young People (Centre d’Ecoute et d’Information Conviviale pour Adolescents et Jeunes, CEICA). Mr Nganya has stressed the importance of an immediate and impartial investigation to put an end to these ignoble acts, because these young people represent the future of our nation, and DRC cannot remain indifferent in the face of this unbearable violence. « It is imperative that urgent measures be taken to protect our children, in order to put an end to the violence and restore peace to this region. The silence and the inaction are not an option », has underlined Mr. Nganya. He has finally exhorted the humanitarian actors to join this appeal and to work together to guarantee the safety and well-being of children, before recalling that the CEICA is a structure of the Ministry in charge of Youth and Patriotic Awareness.
