Kinshasa, June 1st, 2025 (CPA).- The issue of infrastructure deterioration and unfinished projects in the province of Nord-Kivu in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo has been raised on Thursday by the Minister of State in charge of Infrastructure and the military governor of that jurisdiction in Kinshasa, according to a statement received on Friday by CPA. ‘The military governor of Nord-Kivu, Major General Evariste Somo Kakule, accompanied by national deputy Patrick Munyomo, has been received by the Minister of State in charge of Infrastructure and Public Works, Alexis Gisaro Muvunyi. The two officials have focused their discussions on the issue of infrastructure deterioration and unfinished projects in the province of Nord-Kivu,’ according to the statement from the Ministry in charge of Infrastructure. After the meeting, the National Deputy Patrick Munyomo has explained that this meeting was invaluable for raising awareness of the population’s concerns about infrastructure deterioration and unfinished projects, the source has reported.  It was a matter of coming to plead for the interests of the population of Nord-Kivu, where there are collapsed bridges and unfinished roads. This is the case with the Mavivi airport project, and for the province, it must be completed,’ Patrick Munyomo has indicated, according to the document. ‘What is important is that the Minister of State has reassured us of his support. We are satisfied and believe that this collaboration will continue in the interests of the province,’ it was reported. Despite the worrying security situation in the eastern part of the country, the military governor, Major General Evariste Somo, is determined to work at all costs for the well-being of the population of Nord-Kivu.
