Kinshasa, April 23rd, 2025 (CPA) – The weekly inflation rate in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) slowed slightly during the third week of April 2025, settling at 0.13%, compared to 0.16% the previous week, according to the economic conjuncture note of the Central Bank of Congo (BCC) consulted on Tuesday by CPA.
‘During the third week of April, the pace of domestic price formation slowed slightly compared to the previous week, as evidenced by a weekly inflation rate of 0.13% compared to 0.16% the previous week’, it is reads. According to the source, year-to-date inflation stood at 2.82%, compared with 4.22% in the corresponding period of 2025. In terms of contribution to the overall index, the ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’ function recorded the largest share, at 61.18%, followed by ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’, at 16.06%. The same source pointed out that the year-on-year inflation rate stood at 10.18%, compared with a forecast of 8.1% at the end of December 2025.
