Kinshasa, June 9th, 2025 (CPA).- The price of a tonne of copper, an export product of the Democratic Republic of Congo, rose by 0.45% internationally, trading at USD 9,646.50 during the week of June 9th to 14th, compared to USD 9,603.05 the previous week, according to a press release consulted on Monday by CPA. ‘The price of a tonne of copper rose on international markets during the period from June 9th to 14th, 2025. This mineral is trading at USD 9,646.50 for the week under review, compared to USD 9,603.05 the previous week, representing an increase of 0.45% per tonne,’ according to the Ministry in charge of Foreign Trade’s market reports. According to the source, during the period from June 2nd to 7th, 2025, several fluctuations have been observed on international markets. The price of a tonne of copper has risen by 0.71%, trading at USD 9,603.05 during the week under review, compared to USD 9,534.90 the previous week. However, it should be noted that the rise, fall and stability of prices for marketable mining, agricultural and forestry products are a result of supply and demand on international markets and the supply chain. These fluctuations have a direct impact on the Congolese economy, which is heavily dependent on raw material exports, particularly in the mining sector.
