DRC: Music Festival Celebrated Under the Banner of Cultural Resistance

Kinshasa, June 22nd 2025 (CPA).– The Music Festival was celebrated on Saturday at the Cultural Centre of Central African Countries (CCAPAC) in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), under the banner of national cultural resistance.

« In our beloved country, the DRC, we have chosen to exist differently. We are a country of music, but not only music. That is why we say today: make music differently. Here, the comma between music and differently has its full meaning. We Congolese do not just dance and sing. We embody a thousand-year-old attitude, a cultural resistance, a vibrant sovereignty that resonates from the great drum to the most dazzling fanfares, » said Balufu Bakupa, Director General of CCAPAC. For this day dedicated to music, the Central African Cultural Arts Centre had programmed two Kimbanguist orchestras, namely the Kimbanguist symphony orchestra and the brass band, to provide entertainment through their various performances.
