Kinshasa, May 9th, 2025 (CPA), – The project to celebrate International Entrepreneurship Day has been presented on Wednesday to the Minister in charge of Industry and the development of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs), in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has learnt CPA on Thursday from an administrative source.
‘Next June 27th will be International Entrepreneurship Day, so it is only natural that we should come and meet the minister in charge of SMEs and Industry to present to him a project of the Federation of Enterprises of Congo (FEC), that of organizing for this day a major meeting between large companies, SMEs and even very small companies (VSEs) to try to find bridges for collaboration in business’, has said Felly Samuna, chairman of the national SME commission of the FEC.
He explained that the aim of the project is to broaden the base of the financial system and at the same time improve local content, by encouraging large companies to work with SMEs, because SMEs create more jobs in the world. ‘We want to promote collaboration between these two types of entities to ensure that more jobs are created’, he has said, before inviting all SMEs and VSEs to take part in this major activity, assuring us that the FEC has started to approach large companies to ask them to prepare projects so that they have a portfolio when they meet with SMEs. He pointed out that this activity will be an opportunity to show what the FEC wants to do, to encourage participants to create new businesses, and to be formal by providing them with coaching and funding for formalization. Felly Samuna indicated that the FEC delegation found a minister who was enthusiastic about the proposal, before agreeing to sponsor and accompany the programme right up to the closing ceremony on June 27th.
