Kinshasa, May 19th, 2025. (CPA) – The vision of the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for the fight against hunger, poverty and social exclusion was illustrated as the spirit of national solidarity by the Minister of Social Affairs on Monday, in a press release from the Ministry. ‘The fight against hunger, poverty and social exclusion is at the heart of the vision of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, and of the actions of the Government led by Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka. This type of initiative is a perfect illustration of the spirit of national solidarity and partnership that we encourage within our ministry’, said Nathalie-Aziza Munana, Minister of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, quoted in the press release.

According to the source, Ms Munana emphasized the need to unite the efforts of the public, private and voluntary sectors to respond effectively to social challenges, while welcoming the humanist vision of the Head of State. The press release stated that the aim of the charity evening, in which Ms Aziza Munana took part, was to raise funds for the international organization “Action Against Hunger”, which is involved in the fight against malnutrition and food insecurity. ‘The participation of Mrs Nathalie-Aziza Munana demonstrates the strong commitment of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity to a concerted, inclusive and sustainable humanitarian response in the DRC’, the source said. The document also indicated that the event was marked by speeches from the representative of the Franco-Congolese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who emphasized the social responsibility of companies, and from the representative of Action Against Hunger in the DRC, who presented the concrete actions carried out in the field.

‘This gala dinner brought together personalities from the diplomatic, economic, humanitarian and cultural worlds. It was punctuated by artistic performances, a fund-raising event for “Action Against Hunger”, and a tombola organized for the benefit of participants’, said the source. The event was organized by the Franco-Congolese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
