Kinshasa, April 29th, 2025 (CPA) – The price of a tonne of copper, an export product of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has registered a rise of 1.05% on the international markets, with a tonne being traded at USD 9,204.00 in the week from April 28th to May 3rd, 2025, compared to USD 9,108.55 the previous week, according to the price list of the Ministry in charge of Foreign Trade, consulted on Monday by CPA. « The price of a tonne of copper is showing a rise on the international markets during the period from April 28th to May 3rd, 2025. This mineral was trading at USD 9,204.00 in the week under review, compared with USD 9,108.55 the previous week, representing an increase of 1.05% per tonne », it is read. In fact, compared with the week from April 14th to 19th, 2025, the price of a tonne of copper fell on the international markets. The mineral is traded at USD 8,869.35, compared with USD 9,710.30 the previous week, a fall of 8.66% per tonne. The price of a tonne of copper shows an increase on the international markets during the period from April 21st to 26th, 2025. This mineral is trading at USD 9,108.55 in the week under review, compared with USD 8,869.35 the previous week, thus an increase of 2.70% per tonne. However, it should be pointed out that the rise, the fall and the stability of the prices of merchant mining, agricultural and forestry products are the result of supply and demand on the international markets, as well as the supply chain. These variations have a direct impact on the Congolese economy, which is heavily dependent on exports of raw materials, particularly in the mining sector.ACP/
