Entrepreneurship: a field visit planned to assess the beneficiaries of the ‘Transforme’ project

Kinshasa, May 20th,  2025 (CPA). – A field visit is planned by the World Bank to assess the beneficiaries of the Transforme project (Project for the empowerment of women entrepreneurs and upgrading of SMEs for economic transformation and employment) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in order to gain a better understanding of their day-to-day management, according to a press release sent on Tuesday to CPA. ‘A field visit is planned to meet the beneficiaries of the Transforme project and gain a better understanding of their day-to-day operations’, it is read. According to the source, the discussions begun last week with the Coordination Unit (UCP) and the implementing firms are continuing this week, adding that the technical teams are presenting the progress made and sharing the results, while planning the next steps to strengthen the impact of the project.

« The World Bank has launched this mission to supervise the activities of the Transforme RDC Project on Monday May 12th, a key exercise to ensure the proper implementation of the programmed actions and to assess their progress. The project is now in a decisive phase, with the selection of beneficiaries who will benefit from its support to strengthen their initiatives », it is points out.  The development objective of the Transforme project is to improve the growth and job creation of new and existing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), particularly those owned by women, in targeted geographical areas (Kinshasa, Matadi, Bukavu, Goma, Bunia, Mbuji-Mayi and Kananga).
