Expo Osaka- Japan 2025: an opportunity for DRC to increase its exports (Minister in charge of Foreign Trade)

Kinshasa,  April 24th, 2025 (CPA).- Expo 2025, which is being held in the Kansai region on the artificial island of Yumeshima in Osaka, Japan, was presented by the Minister in charge of Foreign Trade, representing the Democratic Republic of Congo, as an opportunity for the country to increase its exports, according to a press release consulted on Thursday by CPA. “Expo Osaka-Japan 2025 is a global showcase that represents a unique opportunity for the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is determined to significantly increase the volume of its exports to Japan and other nations,” has said Julien Paluku, Minister in charge of Foreign Trade, quoted in the release. According to this document, the initiative to participate in this forum is part of DRC’s implementation of its Strategy for Export Promotion and Market Diversification (SPED). This member of the Congolese government has visited DRC pavilion, where a trade stand is already attracting an interesting number of visitors, curious to discover the many opportunities offered by DRC. The General Commissariat for Exhibitions is also facilitating the obtaining of visas for exhibitors. Upon invitation, the Minister has also explored the pavilions of other countries, including Malaysia, Tanzania, Zambia and Togo, thus strengthening economic and cultural ties. DRC’s week at Expo is scheduled from June 23rd to June 30th, 2025, with a rich agenda of activities, including a tourism and cultural day on June 27th an investment forum on June 28th and the celebration of the national day on June 30th, marking the commemoration of the country’s independence, has said the press release. 28 million of people are awaited in Osaka, and 170 member countries of the International Exhibitions Office will be present, including DRC, from April to October 2025.
