Kinshasa, April 18th, 2025 (CPA)– The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo told the UN Security Council on Wednesday that the FDLR are not destined to remain in the east of the country, and that they must return to Rwanda”. “It is in this spirit that we affirm that the FDLR has no vocation to remain in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They must return to Rwanda. Their presence feeds a convenient pretext for unjustifiable interventions. And Rwanda must recognize this reality as part of its own heritage”, declared the Minister of State in charge of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie, Thérèse Wagner Kayikwamba, in her address to the members of the United Nations Security Council. “It’s time to close this parenthesis, to stop recycling the FDLR once and for all, as documented by the UN group of experts. We will divide it in all its complexity, without prioritizing the pain, without manipulating the dead”, hammered the head of diplomacy of the DRC. ACP/
