Fifa: Fecofa congratulates Belinda Luntadila on her appointment as a member of the judicial bodies

Kinshasa, May 29th, 2025 (CPA) – On Thursday, the Congolese Association Football Federation (Fecofa) congratulated Mrs Belinda Luntadila of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on her appointment as a member of the judicial bodies of the International Federation of Football Association (Fifa), according to a press release.   ‘We offer our most sincere congratulations to (Ms Belinda Luntadila). It is an honor that this is happening under the management of the Normalization Committee (Conor), which is constantly striving to ensure that our country is represented at the level of continental and international football bodies (CAF and Fifa),’ the statement read. To gain access to the corridors of Fifa, Belinda Luntadila benefited from the patronage of the President of CAF. ‘The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, was pleased to present the candidacy of Belinda Luntadila to the Fifa Disciplinary Committee’, it also states, adding that her promotion came on the sidelines of the 75th Fifa Congress held on May 15th, 2025 in Asuncion, Paraguay, where she was elected a member of the Committee by a majority of the members present.

In the footsteps of Bestine Kazadi

Belinda Luntadila, a lawyer by profession, chairs the panel of experts set up by Fifa to support the Fecofa electoral process.

With her admission to the world football body, she joins Ms Bestine Kazadi, who was elected 5th Vice-President of the CAF Executive Committee on March 12th, with responsibility for women’s football, at the 14th General Assembly of the continental body in Cairo, Egypt. Belinda Luntadila is a member of the Disciplinary Committee, which is responsible for imposing the sanctions listed in the Fifa Statutes and Disciplinary Code against members, clubs, officials, players, match agents and players’ agents. The Fifa Disciplinary Committee is made up of several members, including Belinda Luntadila of the DRC, and is headed by President Mohammad Al Kamali of the United Arab Emirates, Vice-President Jorge Palacio of Colombia and several other members, including Belinda Nzuzi of the DRC.

In August last year, Belinda Luntadila Nzuzi was appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to chair the panel of experts responsible for examining candidates for the electoral commissions of the Congolese Federation of Association Football (Fecofa). Fifa and CAF subsequently decided to renew the Panel’s composition, renaming it the ‘Panel of Expert Advisers’, still under her leadership as chair, and assigning it other functions including legal support for the electoral process within Fecofa. Belinda Luntadila holds a degree in private and judicial law from the Protestant University of Congo (UPC). She is a lawyer at the Kinshasa/Matete Court of Appeal and a member of the Bar Council. At the same time, she has worked on several occasions as an advisor in various ministerial cabinets, as a member of NGOs and as a consultant to international bodies, etc. Her career has been marked by a number of awards, including the Woman of Distinction award, the Maman Awards for the promotion of women in Africa, the Grand Prix de la Femme and the DRC’s Woman of Distinction award for women leaders, and others related to her legal expertise. Above all, Belinda Luntadila, who has been passionate about the sport of kings since a young age, is recognized for her expertise in law, and she applied to the call for candidates launched by CAF to be selected and appointed in August.
