Kinshasa, May 12th, 2025 (CPA) – A civil society organisation specialised in public finances has urged the new general inspector of finance, head of department, to be inspired by the rigorous methods put in place by his predecessor, Jules Alingete, according to a press release received on Monday by CPA. ‘The ODEP invites the new management of the general inspection of finances (IGF) to be inspired by the methods of rigour, boldness and transparency that have marked the action of his predecessor, so that the dynamic given to the fight against anti-corruption does not diminish. The fight against corruption is not an isolated act, but a daily commitment to the general interest’, it is read the press release from the Public Expenditure Observatory (ODEP). The source has emphasised that this structure is committed to closely monitoring the continuity of the IGF’s missions, while hoping that the new team will devote itself to the consolidation of achievements, the strengthening of prevention mechanisms and the pursuit of acts of corruption. ‘The ODEP thus reaffirms its commitment to work, independently and constructively, to promote the sound management of public resources, for the benefit of the common good. Under the leadership of Jules Alingete, the IGF has brought to light a number of practices detrimental to public finances, thereby raising the awareness of officials and managers of the challenges associated with the management of State resources,’ adds the press release. Let us recall that by presidential order, the former General Inspector of this financial institution, Jules Alingete, has been retired and replaced by Bitasimwa Bahii Christophe.
