Haut-Uélé: Police officers in Watsa urged to respect orders

Isiro, April 24th; 2024(CPA) – A call for a sense of responsibility, discipline and strict compliance with instructions was made to police officers at a rally on Wednesday in Watsa, a territory in the province of Haut- Uélé, in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. ‘On the occasion of this event, which has knocked on our door, I appeal to all members of the Congolese National Police to show a sense of responsibility, discipline and strict compliance with the instructions governing our sovereign mission, which is to protect people and their property. You must be vigilant, and cooperate well with the population, who can report any suspicious movements’, said Henri Paluku, Commissaries supérieur principal de la police national Congolaise, after the funeral of Colonel Éric Mpereza, Commissaire principale du commandement- ville d’Isiro. For his part, Alexis Ambambela, Provincial Minister in charge of Interior for Haut-Uélé, said: ‘This is an unfortunate situation that has befallen the Congolese National Police since the death of Colonel Eric Mpereza Byamungu, who rendered loyal service to the Congolese nation in general and to the province of Haut-Uélé in particular.  His biological and professional family decided to bring his body back to Watsa for burial. That is why Governor Jean Bakomito, concerned about this loss, has instructed us to bring his message of condolence here to one of the territories in his province.  Colonel Éric Mpereza Byamungu was Chief Superintendent of the Congolese National Police in the town of Isiro.
