Kimbanguist brass bands called on to get involved in agriculture, fishing and livestock farming

Kinshasa, June 8th, 2025 (CPA) – The musicians of the Fanfare kimbanguiste (Faki) were called upon on Sunday during the celebration of the 104th anniversary of the invasion of the holy city of Nkamba, located in Kongo Central in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to get involved in agriculture, fishing and livestock farming in order to contribute to the development of the church. ‘The musicians must get involved in agriculture, fishing and livestock farming in order to feed the organic visitors who come up to Nkamba. The work has been entrusted to them for the development of our beloved church, particularly in Lutendele, Kunzulu, Kinkewa and Pemba. We must remain steadfast in this work, by attaching ourselves to the saving work of Papa Simon Kimbangu’, declared Spiritual Leader Simon Kimbangu Kiangani, legal representative of the Church of Jesus Christ on earth through his special envoy Papa Simon Kimbangu (EJCSK). He pointed out that the church is full of graduates, the majority of whom are unemployed, adding that ‘If all our projects are implemented today, there will be less unemployment in the church. That’s why we all need to get involved to make all the projects a reality, by doing everything we’re asked to do’. ‘Our fathers left us three things to which we must attach ourselves in order to be saved: respect for the law, love and work. Before they left us, our fathers also asked us to build the New Jerusalem, which is why we are in the process of doing so’, added Simon Kimbangu Kiangani, before adding that thanks to the fishing boat bought by the Kimbanguist mothers, there will be fish and fish flour will be made.

June 6th, day of the implementation of the doctrine of non-violence

Speaking about June 6th, the day on which the doctrine of non-violence was implemented, Pastor Nlandu Mdombasi, the spiritual leader’s chief of staff, stressed in his remarks that for the Kimbanguist faithful, June 6th, 1921 was the day on which the doctrine of non-violence and tolerance laid down by Papa Simon Kimbangu triumphed in the face of the invasion of the holy city of Nkamba.

The city of Nkamba in central Kongo

‘June 6th, 1921-6 June 2025, exactly 104 years ago, the Lord Jesus Christ showed his power over this holy hill of Nkamba and imposed his will in the face of the evil ambitions of the Belgian colonial authorities who wanted to arrest Papa Simon Kimbangu in order to silence him by destroying his saving and liberating work’, he recalled. He pointed out that June 6th was a great historic day for the battered and defenseless villagers, who suffered horrific atrocities at Nkamba at the hands of the Belgian colonial powers, who brutally invaded the Nkamba hillside, adding that the day was transformed, as if by magic, into a day of glory, because the Lord Jesus Christ had manifested his glory, having confounded the colonists. ‘As the colonists approached the envoy of Jesus Christ, an angel miraculously emerged from a safou tree  and broke the strength of the enemies, delivering Papa Simon Kimbangu from their grasp. In an instant, Papa Simon Kimbangu took his wife and children to safety,’ he explained. ‘This triumphant glory shines out today in the musical instruments of the Kimbanguist brass band, whose members have been in communion with the Holy Spirit since 1955, to immortalize his victory forever’, he said, adding: “The music that has been heard since June 5th at the Ntadi site makes this work more universal than ever, and the musicians who have accompanied the Holy Trinity in this mission since its origins pay tribute to our God”. The date of  June 6th was dedicated to the musicians of the kimbanguist Brass Band (Faki) who came from all over the world to Nkamba, the New Jerusalem and international headquarters of the kimbanguiste church, for these festivities which will end on Monday, June 9th, 2025.
