Kinshasa, April 17th, 2025 (CPA) – Business opportunities for women in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were the subject of an information morning organised on Wednesday by the urban directorate of the National Agency for the Development of Congolese Entrepreneurship (Anadec) in Kinshasa, the country’s capital. ‘The information morning focused on business opportunities for Congolese women with Anadec. As part of its roadmap for the 2nd quarter, Anadec’s urban management organised this morning for women’, has said Rachel Ntita, Head of Anadec’s Information Department in Kinshasa. She took the opportunity to present her agency, which is a Congolese government body that promotes national entrepreneurship by providing information and theoretical and practical training on how entrepreneurs can access project financing and public or private contracts, with a view to fostering the emergence of the Congolese middle classes. ‘Anadec is therefore the first opportunity to promote business and women’s entrepreneurship, and to bring about the realisation of the projects of those with ideas’, she has added. She congratulated the women on their courage to embark on E Entrepreneurship, and invited them to rely on her agency for support. Women’s entrepreneurship projects, in particular the Project for the empowerment of women entrepreneurs and the upgrading of small and medium-sized companies for economic transformation and employment (Transforme) and the Expertise France project to support women entrepreneurs in DRC (Pour Elles), were discussed at the morning briefing. David Mukendeshay, Head of the Growth Department at the Urban Directorate, has explained the eligibility criteria and the role of his department in supporting entrepreneurs.
