Kinshasa-Matete High Court: an auction set for July 3rd, 2025

Kinshasa, June 23rd, 2025 (CPA).- A public auction of a plot of land has been set for July 3rd,  2025 by the High Court of Matete, in the centre of Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to a statement seen on Monday by CPA. « Pursuant to Orders No. 117 and 118 of June 16th, 2025 of the President of the High Court of Kinshasa-Matete, a public sale and auction will be held in the courtyard of the High Court of Kinshasa-Matete, located behind the Tomba market in the municipality of Matete, on July 3rd, 2025 at 12:30 p.m., » it is read. According to the source, the property in question is located on Avenue de la Plaine, 13th  Street, a residential neighbourhood in the municipality of Limete, bearing the number 64.91 on the Cadastral Plan, covered by a registration certificate (…) dated January 3rd, 1996. A public auction is a process by which a debtor’s property is sold at auction. This procedure is triggered when the debtor has not paid their debts in accordance with a judgment or court decision. The seized property is then auctioned off in order to recover the sums owed to the creditor. Three conditions must be met in order to proceed with a seizure and sale procedure. These include an enforceable title to enable enforcement measures to be taken; the movable property must belong to the debtor; and the bailiff must have a payment order. This order must be served on the debtor, giving them eight days from receipt to settle their outstanding debt.
