‘We opted for the motorized caravan because it is a communication strategy to reach a large number of the population. The route that this caravan will take will enable people who do not have access to radio or television to find out about this three-day campaign,’ he said. Dr Makengo said that the aim of the campaign is to eradicate polio and protect children in the six provinces with the highest number of reported cases: Kinshasa, Kongo Central, Tanganyika, Haut-Lomami, Tshopo and Maniema. The coordinator of PEV-Kinshasa specified that a positive case of polio had been recorded in the Limete health zone in the city of Kinshasa. During this activity, awareness-raisers invited parents and guardians to welcome vaccinators to protect children against this disease.  This motorized caravan is organized by the Ministry in charge of Public Health, Hygiene and Social Welfare, under the supervision of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI-Kinshasa). It began at the provincial EPI headquarters on 2nd Street in Limete Residential, passing through Pont Cabu, Martyrs Stadium, Kimpwanza Avenue, Bayaka Avenue, Moulaert Roundabout, Kintambo Magasin, the Nguma, Delvaux, UPN, Triangle, Mont Ngafula, Ngaba and Lemba neighborhoods, before returning to the EPI in Limete.
