Kinshasa: The qualities of a good entrepreneur highlighted in a conference

Kinshasa April 15th, 2025 (CPA) – The qualities of a good entrepreneur were highlighted during a conference on entrepreneurship as an essential lever for job creation organized by the Catholic University of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa « Omnia Omnibus », in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), ACP learned Tuesday from the organizers.

« An entrepreneur is someone who is productive and expects results. We’re not a charitable organization. Every action must produce concrete results, whether in terms of courses taken or work completed. An entrepreneur needs to be productive, results-oriented, honest and moderate, as this is essential if he or she is to be able to create other jobs, » says Fortunata Ciaparrone, entrepreneur and malebo pool manager. For her, rigor and personal commitment are essential to transform every challenge into an opportunity, also stressing the importance of being a good communicator. “An entrepreneur must express his ideas clearly, touch both the mind and the heart, and avoid confusing speeches”. According to Fortunata Ciaparrone, honesty translates into the ability to assume one’s mistakes and constantly improve, while moderation enables us to remain calm and find solutions without creating unnecessary conflict. She meant that motivation and concentration on the essentials are the driving force behind innovation. Taking notes, resting and reflecting are essential to staying creative and moving forward despite obstacles. The conference highlighted the key skills – productivity, communication, honesty, moderation, motivation and creativity – that Ms Ciaparrone believes are essential to boost entrepreneurship and job creation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
