Kinshasa, April 22rd, 2025 (CPA)-. The schools’ finalists have been encouraged to cultivate a democratic spirit and social cohesion, during an inter-school competition organised on Tuesday by CENCO’s Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace (CEJP) in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

“We have organised an inter-school competition called « Super champion in social cohesion », at the Monseigneur Moke school complex in the municipality of Kalamu in Kinshasa. The aim is to cultivate in the school finalists a spirit of democracy and social cohesion, essential values for strengthening the social fabric and national unity’, has declared Reverend Sister Perpetue Makiese, director of the CDJP. According to her, this programme also aims to encourage the involvement of young people in the democratic process, and to inform them of the importance of quality election observation.

At the end of this inter-school competition, the Sainte Therese school complex in Kinkole has been named best school in the field of social cohesion. Out of 40 schools selected, five won: the Bonsomi College, the CSST/Kinkole, the Saint Pierre X College, the Saint Montfort College and the Saint Augustin College,’ has made known the Reverend Sister Perpetue Makiese. Mrs Gina Flora, a member of the CDJP, has, for her part, congratulated the commissions for their work and encouraged the organisers for their desire to contribute to the education of young people, because « this is the future ».

It should be remembered that the mission of the Diocesan Commission for Justice and Peace (CDJP) is to work towards transforming the mental, socio-political, economic and environmental structures that oppress mankind. This activity has been organised by the CENCO Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace (CEJP) in collaboration with the Kinshasa Diocesan Commission for Justice and Peace (CDJP-KIN),
