Kinshasa: Young entrepreneurs trained in the manufacture of vehicle parts

Kinshasa, June 2nd, 2025 (CPA) – Young entrepreneurs have been trained in the manufacture and reconditioning of vehicle parts in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), by an electromechanical engineer in a bid to combat idleness and unemployment, the CPA learnt in an interview on Monday. ‘We train young people in electro-mechanics in our workshop, more specifically in the manufacture and reconditioning of vehicle parts and certain aircraft parts’, said engineer Jacques Makopa, head of an electro-mechanical workshop in Kinshasa. According to him, this workshop plays a vital role in the fight against youth unemployment, training young people in the manufacture and reconditioning of parts such as crankshafts, drums and aircraft axles. He says his expertise has won him contracts with major transport companies such as the Congolese transport company (transco) and the air transport company (CAA). Founded in 1998 in the eastern part of Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC, New Mak aims to train a large number of young people in electro mechanics, but energy and material problems are still a challenge, he concluded.
