Kongo Central: a new building for a private university under construction in Madimba

Madimba, May 18th, 2025 (CPA).- The Kongo University (UK) has begun construction of a new building with a capacity of more than 3,000 students in Luango, a locality in the territory of Madimba, in Kongo Central, in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has announced on Sunday the rector of this establishment.

‘We are at the Luango campus of Kongo University, where we are in the process of constructing a large one-storey building with a capacity of more than 3,000 Kongo University (UK) students, to house the faculties of medicine, pharmaceutical sciences and oral health’, has indicated Professor Germain Kuna, Rector of Kongo University. And to add: ‘A university clinic will be built next to this building with six auditoriums to international standards. Its inauguration is scheduled for October 6th, as part of the start of the 2025-2026 academic year’.

It is worth to underline that Kongo University plans to build on this site a commercial area, an Olympic swimming pool, a football and basketball field, student residences, temporary houses for professors and a morgue.
