Kikwit, April 24th, 2025 (CPA) – A call to join the professional and trade centres has been made on Thursday to the young people of Kikwit, in Kwilu, in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo, by the urban youth and patriotic awakening service to banish bad practices, during an interview. ‘We are inviting young people who have dropped out of school to join these centres for coaching and training in these various fields, with a view to banishing bad habits and ensuring their social integration, because young people are the future of a nation’, has declared Severin Nawenakoko, head of the urban office of the aforementioned service. ‘This public service, which is responsible for supervising, training and rehabilitating young people, has set up vocational and trade centres in various fields, including agriculture, carpentry, tailoring, masonry, mechanics, etc., with a view to fulfilling its mission’, he has added. This appeal comes after an increase in the phenomenon of urban banditry observed in various districts of the town of Kikwit.
