Kinshasa, May 29th, 2025 (CPA) – No winners, no losers between Rangers and Les Aigles du Congo, in the duel between the two teams from the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on Thursday, at the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa, on the 10th day of the play-offs of the National Football League (Linafoot) championship. It was a good, tactical, technical and, above all, physical match between the two sides, who were not at all realistic in the penalty area, where each side had two clear-cut chances, despite the slight domination of the Academicians at the interval of the match, which ended in a goalless draw. The same thing happened after the break, with a repeat of the same scenario, but with a remarkable performance from the two goalkeepers of the two sides, who were decisive and did not let anything slip through their fingers until the whistle blew, keeping the score at 0-0.
The draw allowed the Aigles du Congo to regain the lead of the championship for the time being, with 19 points ex-aequo with Maniema Union, but with a goal difference that was more favourable to them than the Unionists, in 9 matches played.
AC Rangers, meanwhile, remain in 10th place with 7 points from 10 outings. One of the top scorers in the play-offs, Rangers’ Molia Lihozasia, who left the field empty-handed in this match, was voted “Man of the Match”. CPA/
