Linafoot: OC Renaissance of Congo and V.Club (0-0) in Group B

Kinshasa, April 3rd, 2025 (CPA) – The OC Renaissance of Congo and V.Club played out a 0-0 draw in a derby in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on Wednesday at the Martyrs stadium in Kinshasa, on the 21st day of Group B of the National Football League (Linafoot) championship.

During this encounter, the two sides failed to offer anything concrete to sink their teeth into for the public. Despite the intermittent dominance and determination of their players, OC Renaissance were unable to take advantage of the occasion to claim a historic first win over V.Club, who were saved at times by the performance of their goalkeeper, Farid Ouedraogo. On more than one occasion, Ouedraogo has thwarted the attacks of OC Renaissance of Congo, which missed a historic opportunity to claim a first-ever win over V.Club, far from their usual form in 2018 or 2020.

However, the Dauphins Noirs, which have been without their Senegalese Coach Youssoupha Dabo for the last two outings, still have room for improvement if they are to qualify for the play-offs, where the top six finishers in each of the two groups are eligible. Indeed, after this draw, their 8th placed team in the league, V.Club, still ranked 4th, is credited with 26 points from 18 outings, on the same level as AF Anges Verts, with 19 outings but relegated to 5th place. The OC Renaissance, that has conceded its 8th draw of the series, has 20 points after 20 matches. This moved it up to 7th place, ahead of AS Dauphin Noir of Goma (19 pts, 12 matches), who dropped to the 9th position.
