Kindu, May 21st, 2025(CPA),– Inspectors from the National Seed Service (SNAS) in Maniema province in the Democratic Republic of Congo learned about seed production at a workshop in Kasongo, one of the province’s territories, in order to strengthen their capacities, the CPA learnt from the organizers on Wednesday.
‘For five days, thanks to the financial support of the PADRIR program, these seed technicians will learn strategies and techniques to increase seed production, particularly through multiplier farmers, in order to eradicate famine in Maniema’, said Ir André Utenzi, facilitator of the workshop.
On this occasion, the participants presented some major challenges linked in particular to the mobility of technicians for an efficient supervision of the seed multiplier farmers, as well as the lack of equipment, land and kits necessary for the certification of their harvests by the only laboratory installed in Kindu, capital of the province.
