Matadi, April 21st, 2025 (CPA) – A delegation from the caucus of provincial deputies from Kongo Central has visited, at the initiative of the MCTC company, the port facilities in Matadi, in Kongo Central, in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of Congo, at CPA has noted.
« We are honoured to be received by the provincial governor, Grace Nkuanga Masuangi Bilolo. Today we are receiving a delegation from the caucus of national deputies from Kongo Central to see for ourselves the significant progress made in the modernisation of the Matadi container terminal, which is the fruit of agreements between DRC and Qatar », has declared Bodom Matungulu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “MCTC” company. And he added: “This work reflects the desire of the Head of State, FelixAntoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, to modernise DRC’s infrastructure with a view to its economic growth”.
For his part, Pierre Nsumbu, president of the caucus of national deputies from Kongo Central, has indicated that ‘We were invited by the MCTC Company, which has approached the province of Kongo Central through its elected representatives. We are at the first stage, which consists of presenting our greetings to the provincial governor, Grace Nkuanga Masuangi Bilolo. After the visit to the port facilities of the National Transport Office (Onatra) in Matadi, we will have an opinion to deliver ». After this exchange at the governor’s office, the joint delegation of national deputies and MCTC has visited the modernisation worksites at the port of Matadi. A part of the Matadi port container terminal (TCM), 250 m long and 524 m wide, is to be managed by MCTC under a partnership agreement with the national transport office (Onatra).
