Kinshasa, June 26th, 2025 (CPA) – Students at the Ngiri-Ngiri Technical Social Institute in central Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), were sensitized on Thursday by the Minister of Youth and Patriotic Awareness to the value and love of their country during the ‘One House, One Flag’ campaign.
« One house, one flag is an awareness campaign aimed at young people in particular and the Congolese population in general, with a view to promoting our country, the DRC. Those who did not know the meanings of each color, or even the star on our flag, should now know. That is why we started in schools, with the basics, » said Noella Ayeganagato, Minister of Youth and Patriotic Awareness. « We want every young person to dream this dream. My home, my flag is a major campaign, but it is subdivided because when we talk about a country, we see what a country is made up of: flags, lines, coats of arms, etc. We started with the flag because the flag really represents the unity of our country, » she added, before emphasizing that this campaign is an initiative aimed at raising awareness among everyone, among all Congolese people. The Minister in charge of Youth and Patriotic Awareness said that placing flags everywhere in the DRC is a symbol of national unity to show the Congolese people in the east that the country remains united and indivisible. For his part, Jackson Modis, the school’s prefect, called on the students, his colleagues and teachers to promote the Congolese nation by embracing moral values.
He also cited some difficulties that are hindering the smooth running of their institution and the learning process for students.
« The students are encountering certain difficulties with regard to their educational activities, but we can summarize these difficulties in a few sentences, in a few words. Among these difficulties is the lack of computers to modernize our teaching. We teach computer science theory without practice, » he explained. This campaign was launched in Kolwezi in Lualaba province on June13th. The campaign is continuing in Kinshasa, where the minister is visiting various municipalities. She has already visited Kintambo, Kasavubu and Ngiringiri.
