Kinshasa, May 26th, 2025 (CPA) – The Prime Minister has promised, at a popular meeting on Monday in Tshikapa, in the province of Kasaï (centre of the Democratic Republic of Congo), her personal involvement in resolving the problems linked to the provision of water and electricity in this part of the country. « This is my first time to arrive in Kasai, in Tshikapa to be precise.
I’ve come to listen to your problems. We’re going to sort out the water issue. There hasn’t been enough water for six years. I am personally committed to this. As for electricity, we need to increase the capacity of the Lungudi power station. I will be closely monitoring the work being done by the company in charge, » has declared the Prime Minister, Judith Suminwa.
The Head of Government has announced the increase in the capacity of the Lungudi hydroelectric power station, in order to provide sufficient energy to support economic activities and improve the well-being of the people of Tshikapa and the surrounding territories. Judith Suminwa has also stressed the urgent need to rehabilitate the Kananga-Ilebo road, whose advanced state of disrepair is a major obstacle to the transport of people and goods. She has promised a rapid intervention by the relevant services.

Support for new FARDC recruits

Members of political parties who have come to listen to the Prime Minister
Judith Suminwa does not forget the new recruits to DRC Armed Forces. She has promised that the government would provide the necessary resources to meet their needs. « We are going to provide the army with the resources to support all the recruits. This matter is currently being in progress. A little patience and everything will be sorted out », she has indicated.
It should be remembered that the Prime Minister has already made her mark by increasing the salaries of the military and police, less than a year after taking office. This government mission reflects a clear desire to strengthen coordination between Kinshasa and the decentralised entities, and to reassure citizens of the government’s commitment to improving their living conditions.
For his part, the governor of Kasai, Crispin Mukendi, has presented to the Prime Minister Judith Suminwa, during her address to the population, the emergencies and projects of the province of Kasai. He has indicated that the economic fabric of Kasai has been destroyed by diamond mining and the atrocities of the Kamuena Nsapu militia, which have killed at least 3,000 Congolese between 2016 and 2017. ‘The Mbimbi, Lovua and Lungudi waterfalls are assets for generating electricity, in addition to the anti-erosion work and the modernisation of the airport and roads’, he has told the Head of Government. The Prime Minister Suminwa is accompanied on her visit by the province’s deputies and senators.
