Kinshasa, April 4th, 2025 (CPA) – A draft law on the creation, organisation and operation of the National Order of Rural Development Technicians will be submitted to the Senate, according to an official press release consulted by CPA on Thursday. ‘The deputy rapporteur of the upper house of parliament, Jean Claude Baende, announces that a plenary session will be held this Friday at the People’s Palace, with the following items on the agenda: presentation of the general economy of the draft law on the creation, organization and operation of the Order of Rural Development Technicians (OTDR); examination and adoption of the draft law on the extension of the state of siege over part of the territory of DR Congo’, the document reads. Alphonse Ngoyi Kasanji, former governor of the province of Kasaï Oriental, is the author of this bill, which has undergone a preliminary examination by the Senate’s research department. Following the example of the national associations of doctors, architects, etc., other bills along these lines have recently been submitted to Parliament.
The last bill to extend the state of siege was examined on March 22nd. ACP/
