Kinshasa, May 9th, 2025 (CPA) – The ecological vision of preserving the natural resources of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been discussed at the 20th session of the United Nations Forum on Forests, which is being held from May 5th to 9th 2025 in the United States, we has learned on Thursday from a press release.

Congo Brazzaville, through Rosalie Matondo, Minister in charge of Forest Economy, welcomed DRC’s initiative and encouraged the efforts of Minister of State Eve Bazaiba to raise the profile of the Congo Basin, the lungs of the planet. The theme of this 20th session of the United Nations Forum on Forests was ‘DRC’s forests and peat lands: solutions to the climate crisis’. Several ambassadors from UN member countries, government representatives, scientists and private and public sector investors in the environmental sector, particularly in carbon credits, has taken part in the meeting.
