Kinshasa, May 14th, 2025 (CPA).- An action plan focusing on the empowerment of young men and women has been the focus of an audience in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as part of a partnership between the Ministry in charge of Social Affairs and the G24 Foundation. ‘We have an action plan on the empowerment of young men and women. Today, we’re talking about a partnership with the Ministry in charge of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, involving the sharing of knowledge with the aim of helping Congolese youth to have prospects for the future and to find employment’, has declared Dickson MUBIMBA, general director of the G24 Foundation.
‘’From this meeting with Minister Nathalie Aziza Munana, emerges a partnership that will enable G24 and the Ministry to work together in the interests of young people. It’s a constructive collaboration, a partnership of great interest because we have launched specific activities linked to this ministry as part of the social protection of young people’, he has added. The G24 Foundation owned by the social actor and national deputy Jean-Marie Lukulasi has, on this occasion, asked for a partnership with the Ministry in charge of Social Affairs to supervise and support young people who are unemployed and deprived of activities for material or psychological reasons. Minister Munana has highlighted the major challenge posed by the fear that unemployed young people, who are often tempted to emigrate or turn to crime, will swell the ranks of urban gangs, particularly the Kinshasa kuluna. According to the Foundation, these young people need appropriate support that addresses the root causes of their situation. G24 is committed to the fight against urban violence and the reintegration of vulnerable young people, and is taking concrete action to offer real opportunities to marginalised populations in DRC.
