Kinshasa, May 15th, 2025 (CPA) – The installation of a police station to combat urban banditry in the Lubudi Nganda district, in Kintambo, a commune in the center of the city of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, was requested on Thursday during a meeting with an authority from this entity. ‘We are calling for a police station to be set up at the Tshiamala bridge, linking the Kintambo municipality to Bandalungwa, to combat urban banditry in the Lubudi Nganda neighborhood,’ said Arlette Tshiaba, deputy head of the Lubudi Nganda neighborhood. ‘We are also asking the authorities to organize day and night patrols to reinforce security in this neighborhood, whose residents are often the victims of acts of banditry committed by uncivilized people from the Luka camp area’, she added. Another case of insecurity has also been reported in the Matadi district, in Masina, a commune in the east of the Congolese capital, where two (2) cases of murder have been recorded. ‘We have two cases of murder to report as proof of the insecurity in Masina, and in particular in our Matadi district. The first occurred on the night of May 12th to 13th on the Sadelmie site, and the second was committed on the night of May 13th to 14th in front of the Clinique des Anges building on Avenue Bosango’, reported Roger Bisila, deputy chief of the Matadi district, denouncing the resurgence of insecurity in his district. Contacted on this subject, the second-in-command of the Matadi district sub-police station expressed his concern, before asking for material resources to enable the police to ensure security in this part of the Congolese capital.
