Kisangani, April 9th, 2025 (CPA) – The school calendar has not been modified but rearranged in the educational province of Tshopo 1, in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo, CPA learned on Wednesday from a school source. « We must avoid confusion. There is no change to the school calendar. On the contrary, the school calendar has been rearranged. This was done just in relation to the schools that had experienced the strike, » said Alain Mwimbi Mwimbi, director of the Tshopo 1 educational province (Proved).
He acknowledged the existence of two (2) school calendars in application during the current school year. « The normal calendar for the start of the school year is used by schools that have never experienced a strike. However, all schools that have experienced strike action are using the reorganized school calendar. However, all the two (2) categories of schools are subject to compliance with the dates for the taking of certification tests », he added. « There is one thing that has been maintained, both for those who have been on strike and for those who have not. These are the dates on which the certification tests are to be taken », added Proved, pointing out that these dates have been brought forward to allow those who have lost a few days to recover them and be on the same footing as those who have kept to the school program.
