Kinshasa, May 27th, 2025 (CPA).- The identification of taxi, taxi-bus, bus and hearses drivers with the Urban Transport Division of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been set for May 31st, 2025 at the latest, according to a press release consulted by CPA on Tuesday. ‘The provincial Ministry of Transport and Urban Mobility is informing all taxi, taxi-bus, bus, chauffeur-driven car +VTC+ and hearses drivers operating in the city of Kinshasa that, in accordance with the decree of December 20th, 2020, they are required to register with the Urban Division of Transport, Communication Routes and Opening Up 31 May 31st, 2025 at the latest,’ reads the press release from the provincial Ministry in charge of Transport and Urban Mobility.
According to the document, this operation consists of reinforcing safety measures on board passenger transport vehicles and mobilizing revenue from the city of Kinshasa. After this deadline, the source continued, any unidentified passenger transport driver will be liable to the penalties provided for by the legislation in force.
