Tshopo: Promise to renovate the road police building in Kisangani

Kisangani, April 30th, 2025 (CPA) – A promise to renovate the administrative building of the road traffic police in Kisangani, capital of Tshopo province in the north-east of the country, has been made by the president of the provincial deliberative body, CPA learnt on Tuesday from a parliamentary source.

‘If in a fortnight’ time the provincial government does not start work on refurbishing the road traffic police building, the provincial assembly will do so. We don’t yet know how, but we will do it. We have pleaded several times for the rehabilitation of this building, but nothing has been done. This time we will act on behalf of the population’, declared Mateus Kanga Londomo, president of the Tshopo deliberative body. The building, which houses the various offices of the road traffic police, was damaged by a violent wind that blew off its roof on August  14th, 2023. It is a bad sight right in the centre of Kisangani in the commune of Makiso, the headquarters of the state’s public institutions. The president of the provincial assembly was accompanied on this visit by several members of his institution and the provincial minister in charge of ITPR.
