90% of Assanef flyover construction works

Kinshasa, April 8th, 2021 (CPA).– The Deputy Minister in charge of Finance, Junior Mata, assessed on Tuesday with the experts of the Office of Roads and Drainages (OVD) led by its General Director, Victor Ntumba, the execution of the works of Assanef sheepfold located at the crossroads of Liberation and Kabinda avenues in Lingwala municipality, CPA learned from this ministry on Wednesday.

According to the source, Mr. Ntumba indicated that this work on this grade separation is currently 90% completed, and that within a few days the work will be operational, specifying that the company carrying out this construction work has resumed work.

“We came to reassure the Deputy Minister that work has resumed, after consultation with SAFRICAS. We have ironed out our misunderstandings. And we made the decision to resume work. Much of the work has already been completed. « Said the general director of OVD.

The construction of flyovers is part of the works scheduled as part of the 100-day program of the President of the Republic, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, launched in March 2019 in order to make road traffic in the capital easier.

These days, only five grade separations out of seven are operational, two years after the start of the works, the two others are in full construction; in particular the one located on the avenue Liberation and the ‘another on boulevard Lumumba near the liberty market.

As a reminder, after the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, proceeded on Thursday, January 1st, 2021, to the inauguration of the separations of Socimat, Mandela, and Pompage, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in charge of Infrastructures and Public Works, Willy Ngoopos, for his part, inaugurated on January 15th, the one built on Boulevard Lumumba, at the level of Mokali and Pascal districts, while work on the other flyovers continues.
