A manual peanut sheller and cassava grinder to respond to the social problems of the population

Kinshasa, July 10th, 2021 (CPA).– The NGDO called: Service d’Assistance et de Promotion Social (SAPS) has just set up a peanut sheller and a grinding mill, both operating manually, with a view to respond to the social problems of the population, said the president of the SAPS, François Maleba Mpakiamayi, Friday during an interview with the CPA.

« My concern was to find a solution to the recurring load shedding and power cuts that are affecting households, both in Kinshasa and in the hinterland. This is how we started with the city of Kinshasa with the two manual machines, which took us a month and a half to manufacture, on our own funds. Housewives will now be able to grind their cassava chips or shell their peanuts, without fear of load shedding or blackout, « he said.

Mr. Maleba remains convinced that the development of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) must begin with the Congolese themselves, hence his plea for financial support for his project. He reiterated his commitment to continue and expand this project across all provinces of the country.

It is in this context that in plans to introduce a file with the Industry Promotion Fund (FPI) which finances projects with visible impact, in order to create, not only employment, but also to perfect and to multiply his invention, in the interest of the community.

The SAPS intervenes in the social field by providing support to people of the third age, widows and widowers, orphans, abandoned children, the reclassification of the disabled and also ensures the guardianship of minors in freedom, it is recalled. ACP/
