AGAD: acquisition of a new sunflower oil pressing machine

Kinshasa, June 25th, 2021 (CPA).- The Association of Farmers for Development (AGAD) has acquired a new sunflower oil pressing machine from its partners, with the aim of promoting the exploitation of this crop for the development of the DRC, learned the CPA Friday of this organization.

The main objective of this machine, according to its coordinator Jerry Manitu Mantoto, is to increase the level of local production of sunflower oil, in order to allow compatriots to consume organic at an affordable price.

He also said the machine will produce a quantity of two tons of oil, which can make it easier for any Congolese to consume purely organic and thus protect them from cholesterol-related diseases.

“The time has come for us to invest in this culture and in processing our own products in sufficient quantity, to provide for the needs of our people and to end dependence on other countries. The DRC has the competence for its industrialization, ”said Ms. Jeanne Makengo, one of AGAD’s members.

The NGO AGAD is a structure created in 1998 and whose mission is to support men who aspire to get involved in intensive agriculture. ACP/
