Belgian Ambassador to the DRC asks about the government’s vision for the mining sector

Kinshasa, June 25th, 2021 (CPA).– The Minister of Mines, Antoinette N’samba Kalambayi, exchanged Thursday with the Ambassador of Belgium in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Jo Indekeu, who came to inquire about the government’s vision in the mining sector and at the same assess cooperation between the DRC and its country in the field of the extractive industry.

The Belgian Diplomat Jo Indekeu, on this occasion, expressed the desire to increase collaboration between the two countries, in the mining sector so that the profits from sales really return to the Congo, before the question of aid from Belgium for the operation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).

In reaction to the concerns of the Belgian diplomat, the Minister of Mines, Antoinette N’samba Kalambayi, was in favor of the steps taken by the Belgian diplomat, indicating that they are in line with the vision of the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo expressed during his visit to Belgium in September 2019 where a memorandum was signed in Antwerp between Diamond center and the CEEC.
