Common questions on electronic commerce rose at the French Ministry of Digital

Kinshasa, July 3rd, 2021 (CPA).– The Minister of Digital, Désiré Cashmir Eberande Kolongele, had a working session Thursday, July 1 in Kinshasa, at his office in the commune of Gombe, with his colleague from Foreign Trade, Jean Lucien Bussa, based on common issues of electronic commerce (E-commerce).

For Minister Bussa, the face to face with his Digital colleague was essential and aimed not only to exchange views, but also and above all to envisage in the future a close collaboration on common questions relating to the e-commerce sector between the two departments.

He then underlined that electronic commerce is today an important element, both in internal trade, but also at the level of international trade, before adding that it is a requirement at the level of the organizations to which the Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) belongs in particular to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Common Market for Southern and Eastern Africa (COMESA) as well as the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

During this meeting, the two members of the government namely, Jean Lucien Bussa and Désiré Cashmir Eberande announced, for soon, the conclusion of an agreement on the outline of the digital and E-commerce code. ACP/NIG
