DRC’s industrialization master plan, an indispensable tool in regional integration, according to the general secretary of ZELECAF

Kinshasa, April 19th, 2021 (CPA).– The General Secretary of the African continental free trade area (ZLECAF), Wamkele Keabetswe Mene, during an exchange of views on Friday April 16th in Kinshasa, with the Minister in charge of industry, Julien Paluku Kahongya, qualified the industrialization master plan of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), an essential tool in regional integration, learned CPA on Saturday from the Ministry in charge of Industry.

For the General Secretary of ZLECAF, DRC industrialization master plan is a model that he intends to share with the signatory countries.

The source indicates that Mr. Wamkele told his interlocutor that an amount estimated at 1.5 billion US dollars has just been mobilized to promote trade carried out by women in countries that have already ratified the agreement of ZLECAF.

For his part, the Minister in charge of Industry, Julien Paluku Kahongya, gave the advantages offered by this master plan for industrialization of DRC: “We will soon present it to investors who will each be able to choose the sector in which they can invest, where they can do it and how, so the plan includes all the details on the location of opportunities throughout the national territory of DRC”.

The General Secretary of ZLECAF was accompanied by the General Director of the Multimodal office of freight management, Patient Sayba, co-organizer of the meetings of the international conference focused on the implementation of ZLECAF which are held in Kinshasa, it recalls. Acp/Tange /GM
